This past summer, I had the incredible opportunity to participate in a business accelerator program run by ACE NextGen. This organization is all about empowering the next generation of Asian American and Pacific Islander entrepreneurs, and it was a truly enriching opportunity. It was during one of their workshops with Amazon that I connected with an opportunity that would lead to this moment.
Through ACE NextGen and Amazon, I met with Lemonlight, a talented creative ad agency. Our goal? To create a fun 30-second video reel to highlight my first book, My Ông Ngoại's Garden: Cal's Guide to Vietnamese Fruits and Culture.
We spent weeks working closely on the storyboard. Their amazing team brought the book to life by adding animations to the illustrations and beautifully incorporating footage of my sweet family. I even had a hand in the video by doing the voiceover! To be honest, I was pretty nervous and had countless takes, but the final production turned out beautifully.
The ad is now finalized! We are just waiting on a few final pieces of behind-the-scenes work from Amazon before we can launch the ad on Amazon TV.
The launch is forthcoming, and I cannot wait for you all to see the final product!
