Celebrating Community, Culture, and the Power of Passion at the Lucky Lunar Fest

Earlier this month, I had the privilege of participating as a vendor at the Lucky Lunar Fest at South Coast Plaza, an event made possible by the generous support of Ace NextGen, Macy’s, NextShark, and Wells Fargo.

As a children's book author, I was deeply moved to share my children's book called, "My Ong Ngoai's Garden: Cal’s Guide to Vietnamese Fruits and Culture" with so many families. Witnessing the joy on the faces of children and parents as they discovered characters reflecting their own experiences from my book was truly heartwarming.

Beyond sharing my book, the festival was a vibrant celebration of culture, featuring lion dancing and an engaging performance by Sophie and Jennifer of Mommy and Me Vietnamese.

The most meaningful aspect of the day, however, was sharing this experience with my two sons. I wanted them to see firsthand the power of pursuing one's passions and connecting with the community. As a mother and author, I believe in demonstrating the value of dedication, creativity, and pride in our Vietnamese culture and heritage. I hope this experience inspires them to pursue their own unique paths and contribute their talents to the world.

Thank you to everyone who made this event so special.
