I’m on Little Saigon TV! 🎥
I am thrilled to share that my recent interview with Little Saigon TV (LSTV) is now available on YouTube!
When I sat down with LSTV to help promote the City of Garden Grove's Tet Lunar New Year Festival, I also got the chance to give the audience an exclusive sneak peek of my upcoming projects.
Want to skip straight to the book talk? You can catch the preview of both projects starting around the 16:35 mark of the interview here.
A Sneak Peek at This Year's Releases
These upcoming stories are incredibly close to my me, and I can't wait for you to see the final products.
Cal and Dan’s Guide to Vietnam: This story follows two brothers as they explore the unique sounds and rich culture of Vietnam for the very first time.
My Bà Nội’s Garden: This story follows a young girl named Hanh, who discovers the joy of different vegetables—and connection—while spending quality time with her bà nội (paternal grandmother).
Why This Work Matters
The book set in Vietnam is deeply personal to me. It features a character named Dan, who is hard of hearing and teaches others about hearing aids and sign language. Dan was directly inspired by my youngest son, making this project a joy to bring to life.
Diverse representation in children's literature is critical. I am deeply passionate about creating intentional stories where children can see their own experiences, families, and identities beautifully reflected in the media that resonates with them.
What’s Next?
With summer officially here, I am deep in the next phases of production. Stay tuned, because I can't wait to share more updates, behind-the-scenes looks at the illustrations, and upcoming publishing milestones!
Thank you so much for joining me on this storytelling journey.
