I’m thrilled to share a piece inspired by My Ong Ngoai’s Garden: Cal’s Guide to Vietnamese Fruits and Culture at the City of Santa Ana’s Tết Lunar New Year Festival on Saturday, February 7th.
For this performance, I’ve partnered with the talented students of Demille My Viet Language Academy to bring the book to life on stage. They have created a special dance piece to close out the program and thanks to our wonderful volunteers, we even have characters playing Ông Ngoại (Grandpa) and Cal. It will be such a heartwarming, full‑circle experience.
The festival is open to the public and will be packed with cultural activities, performances, and community fun. If you’re in the area, come stop by and celebrate with us. I’ll be performing at 1:30 p.m.
